What We Believe

Statement of Faith

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the sole objective source of all God has given us about Himself and His plan for humanity. As God’s inspired and infallible Word, the Bible is inerrant, authoritative, reliable, and sufficient for salvation and godliness.

God

We believe that there is but one living and true God, an infinite, all-knowing Spirit, perfect in all His attributes, one in essence, eternally existing in three Persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – each equally deserving worship and obedience.

We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling every Christian is enabled to live a godly life through dependence on Him. We believe every believer possesses the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit from the moment of salvation and is enabled to live a godly life through dependence on Him. The Holy Spirit also sanctifies, instructs, empowers them for service, and seals them unto the day of redemption. We believe it is the duty of all those born of the Spirit to be filled with (controlled by) the Spirit.

Salvation

We teach that salvation of man, who is sinful and lost, is instantaneous and is accomplished solely by the power of the Holy Spirit through the instrumentality of the Word of God, when the repentant sinner, as enabled by the Holy Spirit, responds in faith. This salvation is wholly of God by grace on the basis of the redemption of Jesus Christ alone, the merit of His shed blood, and not on the basis of human merit or works. We teach that all the redeemed once saved are kept by God’s power and are thus secure in Christ forever.

Eternal Life

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: the saved to eternal life with Christ and the lost to eternal punishment in hell.

The Return of Christ

We believe in the personal, future, and imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ in power and glory.

The Church

We believe that all who place their faith in Jesus Christ are immediately placed by the Holy Spirit into one united spiritual body, the church, the bride of Christ, of which Christ is the head. The church of God refers to the community of those who have been called out by God from their slavery to sin through faith in Jesus Christ. We believe that the purpose of the church is to glorify God by building itself up in the faith, by instruction of the Word, by fellowship, by keeping the ordinances and by advancing and communicating the gospel to the entire world. The formation of the church, the body of Christ, began on the day of Pentecost and will be completed at the coming of Christ for His own at the rapture.
